Senior Fundraising Manager Aflatoun Amsterdam
The Aflatoun programme provides children and youth with the building blocks of life and empowers them to make a positive change in their lives. It balances personal and social awareness with practical planning, saving and entrepreneurial skills. Headquartered in Amsterdam, the Aflatoun Secretariat is responsible for providing services to organizations in over 80 countries that deliver the programme to over one million children.
The Aflatoun Secretariat is a dynamic, result-driven and diverse 19-member team hailing from approximately 12 different nationalities.
Aflatoun is currently looking for the following personnel:
Senior Fundraising Manager
The Senior Fundraising Manager will be responsible for seeking new sources of funding and nurturing existing funding relationships. They will work with global funding organisations, corporations and governments to mobilise resources to enable the Aflatoun programme to operate globally. He/she will work closely with the Programmes Team and will report directly to the Head of Resources.
Key Responsibilities:
? Conduct research related to fundraising opportunities.
? Provide effective pro-active donor stewardship.
? Liaise with programme managers and Aflatoun country partners over potential opportunities.
? Develop proposal, concept notes and presentations for funders.
? Proofread various texts.
? Other miscellaneous activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
? Bachelor’s degree.
? Approximately 5 or more years of fundraising work experience in the non profit sector, preferably complemented with working experience in the field of children’s education & development. International fundraising experience would be preferable.
? Demonstrate the ability to work in a small team with motivated, multicultural co-workers.
? Experience in writing successful funding proposals and applications to trusts, foundations and corporations.
? Excellent communicative and social skills and the ability to learn quickly on the job.
? Strong organizational skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities and work in a team characterised by diverse cultural backgrounds.
? Self-driven with a high sense of creativity, quality, accuracy, efficiency and meeting tight deadlines.
? Fluency in oral and written English (preferably English as a first language); knowledge of additional languages such as French, Arabic or Spanish an advantage.
? Strong computer skills, including sound knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
? Willingness to present the organisation to various stakeholders during meetings and conferences.
? Creative and proactive attitude and willingness to preserver to get results.
? Ability and willingness to travel internationally.
Conditions of Employment:
The position is for a fulltime workweek (40 hours). We offer a dynamic and pleasant multicultural working environment, with an indicative gross yearly salary range of €32,887 - €46,206 (inclusive of pension, health insurance, holiday allowance and national insurance contributions) - the salary level awarded will depend on relevant work experience and educational background, for the exceptional candidate with a proven track record in fundraising a salary higher than the stated range may be considered. Candidates with an existing EU working permit shall be given a preference.
