Director, Finance and Administration MONTROSE

MONTROSE (www.montroseafrica.com) is an international development project management and consultancy company. Montrose specialises in the health, education, and enterprise sectors and provides support to private sector and public sector clients in project design, planning and management, monitoring and evaluation.

The Finance and Administration Director will be responsible for all aspects of financial management, monitoring and reporting for Montrose. The Finance and Administration Director will report to Managing Director and work closely with the Programmes Director on operations. The Finance and Administration Director will be part of the Montrose Senior Management Team, comprised of Managing Director, Programmes Director and Finance and Administration Director. The Finance and Administration Director directly supervises Finance Manager and Senior Administrator.

Roles and Responsibilities

A. Finance

Financial management and accounting: cash flow management and projection; preparation of monthly and annual budgets; analysis of overhead expenses; analysis and enhancement of financial systems; preparation of monthly management accounts; preparation of accounts for year-end audit; ensure compliance with local tax laws in relation to financial activities; overseeing the maintenance of financial records

Project financial management: analysis of project budgets and contracts; management of project budget, financial transactions and reporting; monitoring expenditures; ensure financial compliance; overseeing accounting procedures; develop and monitor financial reporting systems for projects; undertake internal audits on major projects

Accounts/Receivables Management: oversee and monitor payments; oversee and monitor all incoming funds

B. Administration

Human Resources: Oversee implementation of human resources systems and procedures; provide support to direction in HR policy and procedures

Office Management: oversight of office management and administrative systems; review and streamline administrative systems and procedures

Logistics and Procurement: Oversight of logistics and procurement Administration; review and streamline logistics and procurement systems; oversight of procurement for projects and ensuring best value

Marketing and Communications: oversight of website management; oversight of communication and marketing plans and proposals; oversight of development and management of IT and documentation systems

Legal Compliance and International Standards Compliance

Skills and Experience:

• Minimum five years’ relevant experience • Experience in developing countries essential, experience in Africa an asset • Experience in working with consultancy/project management companies a strong asset • Postgraduate degree or qualification in management accountancy/financial management or related discipline • Excellent computer skills including Excel and accounting packages, knowledge of Quick books an asset • Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure • High degree of flexibility and creativity • Excellent inter‐personal and communication skills • Location: Kampala, Uganda
