Head of Team: Fundraising and New Markets

The International HIV/AIDS Alliance supports communities to meet the challenges of AIDS and build healthier communities. Our vision is a world in which people do not die of AIDS. Since 1994, the Alliance and its partners have supported over 3,000 projects, in over 40 countries, reaching millions of people.

In 2013, the International HIV/AIDS Alliance (“the Alliance”) celebrates 20 years at the forefront of the fight to end AIDS. The Alliance is a not-for-profit/NGO registered in the UK and US, made up of 40 member organisations in: Africa; Asia and Eastern Europe, Latin America. Our current strategy, HIV and Healthy Communities voices the collective will of these Linking Organisations and the Secretariat in our vision of a world in which people do not die of AIDS. We focus on achieving this goal by supporting communities in the three regions to play a full and effective role in the global response to AIDS. We have seen strong income growth over many years and reported landmark group income of $100m in 2011.

We are now seeking a committed individual who would like to work with us to achieve our mission in exciting and dynamic times. The post holder would join a high-performing External Relations Department which comprises 5 teams: Resource Mobilisation (Fundraising and New Markets); Policy; Communications; Best Practice Unit; US Office. The Alliance Secretariat has its primary office in Brighton, UK, in addition to offices in: Washington DC; Delhi; Brussels; Geneva; and regional posts in: Argentina; Kenya, Morocco, Senegal; South Africa; Uganda; Ukraine and Thailand.

This rewarding senior post, leading the Fundraising and New Markets Team, within the External Relations Department will focus on organisational responsibility for the development and implementation of the Alliance’s new income generation strategy. In addition, the post holder will have lead responsibility for the ongoing development of the Alliance’s proven income streams, and be a key contributor in the next strategy (2013-2020).
