CAFOD , COUNTRY REPRESENTATIVE DRC

CAFOD, one of the UK’s leading international aid agencies, is currently looking for a Country Representative for our work in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Job Profile CAFOD is the official international development and relief agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales. CAFOD’s work in Africa includes programmes with partner organisations in the DRC to combat poverty and injustice and to build a strong and dynamic civil society.

Your role The Country Representative will develop and manage CAFOD’s development and humanitarian programme in the DRC. The scope of the post falls in to the following broad categories:

• Programme Overview and Development • Management and Administration: Managing the country office(s) and budget, leading and managing a team of staff. • Representation: Ensuring that CAFOD is effectively represented to key local and international players and networks, including the local church, DFID and other institutional donors. • Communication and Learning

Your profile You will have international experience in overseas programmes at a managerial level, with the ability to work in difficult environments and under pressure. You will need to be fluent (written and spoken) in English and French and confident in dealing with local organisations in an empowering way, including Church and NGO partners.
