DEPARTMENT: ANTITRUST, COMPETITION AND TRADE PRACTICE
PURPOSE OF THE JOB: TO PROVIDE HIGH-QUALITY SUPPORT TO THE KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT TEAM
KEY TASKS
- Monitoring, identifying and keeping lawyers informed of legal developments relating to EU competition law;
- Assisting in managing, developing and updating our internal legal know-how database and competition practice intranet;
- Helping to improve the efficiency and consistency of fee earners’ legal work by maintaining useful tools, such as standard forms, guidance notes and manuals;
- Assisting in maintaining and regularly updating an electronic tool containing information on merger control rules in all jurisdictions;
- Assisting in managing a database of our network of lawyers and law firms in jurisdictions where we do not have a presence;
- Assisting the knowledge management team and fee earners in their research;
- Training newcomers on research tools.
KEY STRENGTHS
Education/languages:
- Fluent in English. Knowledge of French/German is an asset;
- Law degree and/or prior professional experience as an information officer;
- Good knowledge of EU competition law;
- Strong technical skills of Windows based packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and of legal research tools.
