The Independent State of Papua New Guinea (PNG) has received a Credit from the International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost of the Second Mining Sector Institutional Strengthening Technical Assistance Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultant services. The services include:
• conduct a study of relevant international good practice and compile a report on mining project resettlement or relocation issues in Papua New Guinea;
• take lead discussions in workshops and consultation processes with civil society groups and mining companies to collect data and inputs to inform the structure and content of the policy; and
• plan, design and develop "the policy" based on the research findings, reviews and recommendations and proceedings of the workshops and consultations.

The Mineral Resources Authority now invites eligible individual consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants should provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services: a covering letter introducing the consultant and providing a summary of relevant experience; a CV of the consultant detailing his/her qualifications and detailed experience (including the number of years worked and degree of responsibility held in various assignments during the last 10 years); and the details of two (2) referees who can attest to the experience of the consultant relevant to the services. Interested consultants must have relevant tertiary qualifications.

An individual consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (May 2004, Revised October 1, 2006 edition) Section V, Selection of Individual Consultants.
Interested consultants may obtain further information, including a copy of the TOR, at the address below during office hours (8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (Port Moresby GMT +10hrs)).
