Founded in 1906, American Leprosy Missions (ALM) is the oldest and largest non-profit in the United States dedicated to restoring the lives of people affected by leprosy and related diseases such as Buruli ulcer. ALM is a non-denominational Christian ministry of hope and restoration that currently facilitates/implements dozens of projects in 15 countries.
The Director of Program Operations (DPO) will report directly to the Chief Program Officer, Jim Oehrig, and indirectly to the President/CEO, Bill Simmons. The DPO will also liaise with the Medical Director, Dr. Paul Saunderson, while providing strategic oversight of day-to-day operations and project cycle management. The DPO will be based out of the headquarters location in Greenville, South Carolina, USA.
The DPO will focus on preparing multi-year operational plans, budgets and long-term goals; selecting, developing, monitoring and evaluating projects; managing, monitoring and evaluating program-related grants and funders; managing the collection, analysis, maintenance, organization and disbursement of program data; building capacity with/for partner agencies; mentoring, empowering and affirming team members; and be able to articulate and promote what God is doing in and through ALM’s ministry. The DPO should be spiritually mature, results-oriented, experienced and learned, disciplined, energetic, strategic and collaborative.
