Lead Economist - Program Manager LSMS
Reporting to the Research Manager of the Poverty and Inequality Division in DECRG (DECPI), the Program Manager of the LSMS team will:
• Define and contribute to the research agenda of DECRG, including an active program of methodological research in data collection and analytical work in various areas of relevance to policy making.
• Manage and lead a team of several researchers and consultants at Ph.D. and Masters level, as well as administrative staff, to develop and conduct research and analytical work, as well as provide technical assistance and substantive advice, on household surveys and policy-relevant data collection.
• Actively fundraise and develop/strengthen partnerships with key players in household surveys and play an active role in the implementation and build-up of a program of methodological research in data collection at the household level.
• Maintain high-level dialogue with senior government official and other development partners of the donor community and negotiate technical and managerial details of agreements and partnerships in support of the LSMS program.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to younger researchers in the LSMS team and contribute to their growth and effectiveness in delivering sound advice on household surveys, policy research and economic sector work to clients both within and outside the Bank.
• Provide intellectual leadership across the World Bank Group in the design and collection of household survey data for monitoring development progress and informing development policy making.
• Advocate for the team and represent the LSMS in international fora and conferences, and promote the work of the LSMS via various international conduits.
