In the Corporate Department External Affairs, Governmental and Political Relations of Robert Bosch, we are searching for a Manager for R&D Policy and Public Funding, who is well connected in the EU political and scientific community. The position is based in Brussels.

As Manager R&D Policy and Public Funding:

Your tasks:

  • Support R&D policy, acquisition and coordination of publicly funded EU R&D projects;
  • Represent R&D- and funding interests of the Bosch Group towards the EU institutions;
  • Represent Bosch at funding institutions and advise them on the design of R&D programs;
  • Deepen the Bosch network with the Brussels-based innovation and funding community, the EU institutions, relevant associations and organisations;
  • Work in associations and working groups;
  • Evaluate the funding demand of the Bosch Group;
  • Identify support possibilities and explain political framework conditions within the company;
  • Discuss funding projects with R&D departments, support the design of calls, advise R&D departments during the application phase and support them during the negotiation phase with the EU Commission;
  • Prepare/communicate planning data within Bosch.

Your skills/Experience:

  • University graduate, preferably with a technical background (or as a minimum a strong understanding of and interest in technical issues);
  • Work experience in the area of innovation policy or the scientific community;
  • Ideally practical experience with the management of publicly funded projects;
  • Understanding of EU decision-making, preferably specific knowledge of processes within DG RTD and the European Parliament ITRE Committee;
  • Ability to represent Bosch externally, with good negotiation skills;
  • Convincing, flexible and reliable team player with strong analytical skills and ready to take initiative;
  • Ability to work under pressure and independently on a tight deadline;
  • Fluent in German and English.
