Project Officer(TROCAIRE)
Trocaire is the official overseas development agency of the Catholic Church in Ireland, established in 1973. Trocaire does not implement programmes directly. Instead the organisation works in partnership with global Catholic networks and with local civil society organisations on the-grbund. The.aim is that solutions to overcoming poverty and injustice are not imposed on partners and beneficiaries but rather that they are the authors of their own development.
Trocaire\'s work in Rwanda and Burundi is managed from a Regional Office in Kigali. A Subt,Office was established in Bi.iumbura in 2009, however overall management of the Burundi country programme remains with the Kigali Office.
The role of the Sustainable Live!hoods Project Officer encompasses all Trocaire support to local partners working on the promotion of sustainable livelihoods in Rwanda, more specifically on food security and agro-processing.
You will hold a Bachelor\'s Degree or higher in a field related to agribusiness/food security/rural development and have at least 2 years experience working in SME development context, with particular responsibility for leading an agribusiness development project. A proven experience of working on agricultural value chains would be of an added advantage.
Moreover, you are required to have a solid experience in formulating, monitoring and managing project implementation plans and budgets, together with a good general knowledge of office administration and financial systems. Competency in Microsoft Office computer packages is essential as is fluency in both written and spoken Kinyarwanda and French, and a good working knowledge of English.
