The Role
This is a new post designed to improve the external and internal profile of the School of Computing and to improve student recruitment in an increasingly competitive market. The post-holder will be particularly involved in increasing the recruitment of postgraduate and overseas students and to develop alumni engagement.
This post will work in close collaboration with Enrolment Management Services and International Development to ensure that activity within the School supports and complements the University’s strategies and initiatives.
The Person
You will hold a good first degree in an appropriate area or equivalent professional experience with knowledge and understanding of recruitment and marketing in the Higher Education sector. You will have experience of working in a Higher or Further Education Institution with experience of using the Microsoft suite of programmes as well as Dreamweaver and capability in website design and maintenance. With a high level of literacy and excellent oral and written communication skills you will possess the ability to write accurate and persuasive copy to promote academic programmes effectively; to have a good eye for effective and attractive presentation. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work confidently and diplomatically with people at all levels, from prospective students to senior management.

The Department
The School of Computing has been engaged in teaching, research and enterprise activities for more than thirty years. It has its base at the Canterbury campus, where its principal programme is Computer Science, together with a variety of joint degrees. Since 2003 it has established a strong second base at the Medway campus, teaching IT and Business IT programmes. The School also delivers a portfolio of taught postgraduate courses, some taught jointly with other Schools in the university.
