Senior Agriculture Insurance Specialist

The person filling this role will be primarily involved in supporting the development of agricultural insurance programs in developing countries.
The Senior Agriculture Insurance Specialist will report to the FCMNB Service Line manager. S/he will:
• Assist the Disaster Risk Financing and Insurance Program Coordinator in the management of the agricultural insurance portfolio, as part of the DRFI program;
• Provide technical support to World Bank regional and country teams – primarily in less developed markets – on agriculture insurance;
• Lead the policy dialogue on agricultural insurance with the country clients;
• Lead agricultural insurance teams;
• Conduct quantitative/actuarial analysis;
• Contribute to the development of the agriculture insurance business portfolio;
• Support the development and pilot-implementation of innovative insurance products for agriculture;
• Maintain close contacts with the international agricultural insurance /reinsurance industry;
• Engage with the donor partners on agricultural risk management and agricultural insurance; and
• Contribute to knowledge management agenda on agricultural insurance.
