Job Summary

ALC (American Language Course) trainer/instructor will provide English language courses/training for ANSF (Afghan National Security Forces) staff in provinces of Afghanistan.

Duties and Responsibilities

ALC instructors are responsible for their student’s development and utilizing American English books for English learning course. His reporting body is master trainers. 


• Attend all Site Manager and Master Instructor meetings. 
• Maintain all required qualifications to effectively execute POI events
• All instructors certificate copies will be maintained in central and regional offices as references. 
• Encourage students for participation in the class
• Provide makeup classes and help students who are absent 
•Record student attendance and performance records and forward them to the Master Instructor.
•Create and enforce rules to maintain good order and discipline in the classroom.
•Ensure all instructional media is prepared and posted prior to trainee arrival.
•Start class on time and run classes for the entire time allotted by the schedule. If outside circumstances continually disrupt class time, inform the MT, and site manager. Students enrolled in a class must be allowed the time to attend class, and class should not be scheduled during dinner, prayer or other times that would be a cause to routinely miss class.
•Report all violations of policy to the Master Trainer.
•Trainers are required to participate in the seminars organized by master trainers or academic team in hours which does not affect his regular classes.
•Proper students assessment and test management of their classes, coordination of tests with HEIK Test Coordination Body.
•Post and verbalize classroom rules to enforce understanding. At a minimum the following rules/policy will be reviewed on the first day of each new class:
•Cell phone policy. Cell phones are only to be used on breaks or when class is not in session.
• Expected conduct and respect for others.
• Attendance/Excused absence policy. See paragraph
• Break policy. Student breaks will not exceed 10 minutes for every 50 minutes of instruction. Students will be back in their seats prior to the end of the 10 minute break period.
•Instructors will appoint a class leader at their discretion to assist with monitoring the class and calling fellow classmates in from breaks. If a class leader is assigned it will be made clear that the job is only for reporting violations to the instructor. Class leaders are not to discipline fellow students.
•Appreciation of students who perform well in the class and work hard, organizing event with local command and providing appreciation certificates.

Qualification

•University degree, degree in literature (Proffered)
•3-4 Years of extensive teaching experience teaching English language books, programs, trainings, 
•Must be capable of working both individually and as part of a team to undertake tasks in a fast-paced environment. 
•Must be flexible, willing to perform other duties and work irregular hours.
•Excellent interpersonal skills, including patience, diplomacy, willingness to listen and respect for colleagues. 
•Excellent language proficiency in spoken and written Dari, Pashto, and English.
•Strong basic computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office
•Good knowledge of reporting and record keeping and strong writing skills
