The Organisation
QGC is a leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on supplying cleaner hydrocarbon energy to growing domestic and international markets.

We are establishing Queensland Curtis LNG, a world-first project to turn reserves of natural coal seam gas in the Surat and Bowen basins in Queensland into liquefied natural gas (LNG) – a carbon efficient fuel.

QGC, which is wholly owned by the British energy company BG Group, employs more than 4,300 staff and contractors. 
Position Summary
The incumbent will report directly to Pipelines Contracts Manager, under the leadership of the Manager QCLNG C&P. Their peers include other Contract Engineers and other Contracts team members.

This role has one direct report. 
Key Accountabilities
Position SpecificSupporting the Lead Contracts Engineer in:
• Establishing execution plans for contract area of responsibility
• Preparing and managing the contract review process
• Compiling ITTs (Invitation to Tenders) and Evaluation Procedures necessary to implement project execution strategies and Contract Plans
• Coordinating the bidding, evaluation and award process in accordance with agreed plans and company procedures
• Responsible for post award contracts administration
• Following a thorough and systematic approach in managing contractual matters between company and contractor and preparing commercial and contractual correspondence during the implementation of the contracts (with appropriate use of company contracts management system ‘ProCon’)
• Ensuring tracking systems are maintained for all contractual correspondence
• Maintaining tracking registers of Contract Values and VOs

People Management
• The contractor must abide by company policy in relation to HR policies and procedures such as annual HR cycle and meet deadlines within the appropriate timeframes

Health Safety Security and Environment (HSSE)• Every individual has a duty to both themselves and those around them to ensure that safe practice is adhered to at all times. In addition to any specific accountabilities for HSSE, all Contractors are accountable for HSSE within their area of the Business and are responsible for ensuring that their team (if applicable) adopt exemplary HSSE behaviours
• All QGC Contractors are expected to be aware of, and adhere to the Business Principles at all times under Conduct, Our People, Society and HSSE and to participate in relevant training
Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Technical Experience• Associate of the Royal Institute Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent
• Experience of and demonstrated basic proficiency in handling all phases of contract/procurement development for at least one technical discipline (or be able to perform to same level in warehouse, materials or logistics capacity)

Experience• Demonstrable experience in contracts and procurement in major oil and gas projects contracting
• Demonstrable experience in contract formation for large logistics contracts - in particular 3PL and 4PL
• Demonstrable experience in administration of large logistics contracts - in particular 3PL and 4PL
• Experience in contract management
• Experience in developing and executing contract strategies and plans
• Experience of formulating and administering different contract types including EPCM, lump sum EPIC, EPC, Unit Rate and reimbursable contracts in particular
• Experience in negotiating Contractual and Insurance Claims
 
Knowledge, Languages, Skills and Attributes
• Detailed market knowledge of a minimum of 5 key industry market areas (i.e. CBM, onshore construction, engineering and procurement, etc)
• Ability to take a balanced view in resolving issues
• Ability to escalate and influence Project Manager and other discipline managers effectively in order to maintain progress during contracting and contract management process
• Spots risks early and proactively communicates, develops and offers mitigating actions, solutions and plans
• Ability to manage multiple tasks across contract areas
• Ability to maintain effective and positive relationships with key stakeholders outside of the team
• Ability to undertake a range of contract activities from high level management / strategic to low level administrative
