Tanzania provides us with an excellent opportunity to enhance our gas chain strategy in East Africa and for you; this means the chance to get involved in the initial stages of one of the region’s most exciting exploration projects - playing an active role in the development of Tanzania’s energy sector
Position Summary
The Asset needs to have a dedicated resource to effectively establish and manage processes required for delivery of functional excellence; Asset and Category Planning as part of the annual budget cycle, track and manage the portfolio of Key (and other) Contracts, act as systems Superuser (specifically Procon and Performis), develop SAP and Scorecard Performance Reporting, support ethical compliance Due Diligence reporting and management, and act as focal point for performance reporting between Asset and Function.
The jobholder will have key accountabilities for the above processes, together with supporting and assisting the Asset C&P team to maintain an effective contract portfolio database and audit trail, including contractor performance management data through Performis. In this respect, this is a specialist functional excellence role.

The jobholder is accountable for underpinning functional excellence for the Tanzania Asset, specifically:
Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE):
Ensure contractor performance management metrics are collated and made available to inform and drive optimal HSSE performance: Procon Superuser.
Value Delivery
Develop and apply well-defined C&P information management processes under supervision and in compliance with C&P Standards.
Collate Asset and Category Planning data, track and manage the portfolio of Key (and other) Contracts.
Act as systems Superuser (specifically Procon and Performis), develop SAP and Scorecard Performance Reporting, and act as focal point for performance reporting between Asset and Function.
Custodian for maintaining and developing C&P Team Sharepoint site to enable information sharing and delivery efficiency improvements.
Governance and Control
Maintain and assure the C&P governance audit trail in compliance with C&P Standards.
Develop and apply well-defined C&P information management processes under supervision in support of ethical compliance Due Diligence reporting and assurance.
Compliance assurance for SAP Vendor Master database records.
Personal and Professional Development
Develop own Functional, HSSE, interpersonal and business skills through continuing personal and professional development, specifically, studying to achieve chartered or equivalent professional status, e.g MCIPS, CPSM
Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
  • Educated to degree level; studying for membership of a relevant professional body (eg MCIPS, CPSM, MIIAPS).
  • Appropriate industry experience working in a contracts and procurement environment, and have gained a deep understanding of C&P Standards and Processes.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in working across departments with multi- stakeholders to capture business/activity planning data, consolidate returns and co-develop clear and effective Category Plans for presentation and endorsement.
  • Proficiency in managing and maintaining contracting portfolio and spend data using computer based information/database systems, and internet/web based software tools (SAP).
  • Proven track record in configuring, operating and interrogating computer based information/database systems, and internet/web based software tools to a high degree of proficiency (Mastery level), including  ad-hoc training/coaching and supporting other users.
  • Understands C&P Standards and applies well-defined C&P processes, and is able to deal with routine deviations and amendments.
  • Understands the influence of good C&P practice on value creation, control and safety performance.
  • Interacts confidently with peers internally and externally with representatives of suppliers and contractors.
  • Developing confidence in making presentations internally, and participating in external interactions with contract partners.
  • Clear analytical approach, skilled in manipulating, analyzing and presenting data in an accurate and concise manner to inform strategic decision making.
  • Confident in the use of computer based information/database systems, understanding and familiarity with internet/web based software tools.
  • Fluent in English language.
