The Organisation QGC is a leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on supplying cleaner hydrocarbon energy to growing domestic and international markets. We are establishing Queensland Curtis LNG, a world-first project to turn reserves of natural coal seam gas in the Surat and Bowen basins in Queensland into liquefied natural gas (LNG) – a carbon efficient fuel. QGC, which is wholly owned by the British energy company BG Group, employs more than 4,300 staff and contractors.

Position Summary The core aspects of lease and road construction to ensure the well sites and access roads are delivered safely, efficiently, within budget and in compliance with BG policies, local government and Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) regulations and guidance. The job holder will be responsible for supervising staff and contactors performing operations on the lease land and access road construction site activities. Ensuring that all work is completed in conjunction with QGC policies, procedures and work practices, with particular attention to health, safety, security, environment, and Cultural Heritage requirements is paramount

Key Accountabilities Safety & Compliance Work with the Superintendent to ensure safety has the highest priority and is at the forefront of planning, execution and in all dealings with contractors and service providers Ensure all appropriate actions are taken to implement the safety management system and legislative requirements and that they are fully complied with Ensure the full team is adequately trained and competent in safety management skills and comply with operating area and company reporting requirements Perform ASA’s (Advanced Safety Audits) and contractor compliance audits on a regular basis Point of contact for the reporting of work site incidents and be part of and initiate accident and incident investigations as required Ensure all contractor and service providers are fully conversant in QGC’s safety expectations and hold regular meetings with all local managers Attend Contractor safety meetings and HSSE forum meetings Ensure all safety actions are tracked and closed out in a timely manner         Ensure an equipment assurance programme is in place Ensure a documented trail to all key decisions Ensure all construction teams are in compliance with required mandatory certification Ensure emergency response preparedness Perform other activities as directed by Lease Construction Superintendent  Functional Activities Assist the Superintendent in liaising with Land Access to ensure that QGC has the landowners consent prior to entering the landowners property Ensure lease and access construction planning is performed in a timely manner to meet requirements of QGC planning process Ensure all third party services are available with adequate resources (people and equipment) to meet the scheduled requirements Provide technical advice and troubleshooting for construction, design and operational issues Attend pegging parties at request of superintendent and provide technical input to proposed plans. QC daily construction reports Manage and monitor daily construction operations within own area Monitor performance and technical integrity of contractors and service providers Ensure full cover for construction operations Maintain good and regular communications with all construction teams in operating area Ensure construction programmes and amendments are approved and distributed as required Ensure stock levels of QGC supplied goods are adequately maintained and available to meet the schedule Ensure a full schedule is maintained for construction operations and communicated to the Superintendent Ensure the Superintendent and senior management are kept fully abreast of all key risks and issues Ensure contracts are regularly reviewed to ensure fit for purpose Participate in local and external peer reviews/assists as required Ensure benchmarking data is collected and distributed as required Be part of Emergency Response Team as directed per operating area People Management Actively manage direct contractors and participate in Performance Reviews as applicable in operating area Ensure a full team are in place to deliver all phases of the operation Assist the Superintendent in ensuring a training matrix is in place for all key skills to deliver technical competence and personal development The incumbent must abide by company policy in relation to HR policies and procedures such as annual HR cycle and meet deadlines within the appropriate timeframes Health Safety Security and Environment (HSSE) ·         Every individual has a duty to both themselves and those around them to ensure that safe practice is adhered to at all times. In addition to any specific accountabilities for HSSE, all QGC employees are accountable for HSSE within their area of the Business and are responsible for ensuring that their team (if applicable) adopt exemplary HSSE behaviours ·         All QGC employees are expected to be aware of, and adhere to the Business Principles at all times under Conduct, Our People, Society and HSSE and to participate in relevant training

Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute Experience in oil drilling and exploration lease and road construction Experience with safety management systems and the application of HSSE principles on construction projects Experience providing technical advice and troubleshooting Experience with emergency response management Experience overseeing a small team to achieve outcomes Experience managing contractors in line with a contract for service Experience dealing with external parties i.e. landowners and DEEDI etc Experience in project control and reporting systems Educated in a relevant discipline Commitment to safety Knowledge of construction standards and regulations Excellent interpersonal skills Project management skills Ability to make prompt decisions with a continual focus on safety outcomes Computer literate Intermediate skills in MS Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint Strong commitment to Safety and Environment Ability to engage and motivate
