Cost Estimating Team Leader Shell - Miri


Job Description

  • The Cost Estimating Team Leader (TL) will lead a team of Cost Estimating Engineers in Project Services central team
  • The Cost Estimating TL is responsible for the delivery and consistent quality costs estimates for projects
  • Utilize cost methodologies and tools to produce cost estimates for major and complex projects inclusive of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and start-up scope and costs
  • Incorporate project complexity factors into project estimates and assemble key input data such as project objectives, scope and execution plan
  • Formulate and validate methodologies for deriving quantities from design parameters
  • Perform scenario comparisons and uncertainty analysis and sensitivities on cost estimates, reflecting analysis of project risks. Manage reviews and assurance of cost estimates
  • Develop Estimate Plan detailing how the estimate will be developed
  • Develop Estimate Basis to document how estimate was developed
  • Manage Estimating Data - Establish process to collect actual cost performance, condition and normalise data for future use, develop metrics and benchmarking information
  • Benchmarking of Estimates- Develop benchmarking packages at appropriate level to check estimate results from top down versus both internal and external comparable data
  • Utilize Technical, Economical, Commercial, Organizational & Political (TECOP) profile to establish appropriate deterministic cost contingency
  • Develop expertise in probabilistic cost estimating and will be a subject matter resource within the global Project Management Services community
  • Coach junior staff through training in estimating tools and techniques

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Engineering Degree and/or Certification as a Cost Estimator or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 12 years industry experience including lead estimator positions
  • Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in managing small teams of junior personnel
  • Fully versed with Cost Estimating principles, techniques and industry standard tools
  • Excellent understanding of all phases of the project delivery process
