The Donor Relations Department is a part of the External Relations Division.   Donor Relations' core purpose is to provide leadership, strategy and direction to create a sustainable and innovative fundraising model that will attract an ever increasing level of private support from individuals, corporations and foundations. 

This senior development staff position is responsible for planning, implementing, managing, goal setting and evolving growth of the major gifts and planned giving.  Oversees staff and follows best practices in development and non-profit programs. Enthusiastically embraces the organization’s mission and vision. This position reports to the Chief Development Officer, External Relations.  Duties and responsibilities include:

• Serves as a member of the Donor Relations team providing overall leadership and management for the program, which is responsible for helping PATH achieve its mission through private philanthropic support.
• Develops and manages the major gifts and foundation programs to cultivate and steward gifts of $10,000 and above. 
• Maintains personal responsibility for a specific group of major and leadership gift prospects.
• Works with Board members, volunteers, and other PATH and development staff to strategize, orchestrate and implement cultivation, solicitation and stewardship plans for major gift and foundation donors and prospects.
• Directly manages and mentors a growing staff of major gift officers (estimated 3 to 4) and one administrative assistant. 
• Works very closely with other Donor Relations Leadership who manage the development office’s annual fund, fundraising events such as Breakfast for Global Health.
• Develops and implements PATH’s planned giving program to ensure the growth of PATH’s planned giving efforts.  Conducts yearly cultivation/stewardship events and personal contacts with donors and prospects.
• Serves as a staff liaison with key volunteers.
• Works closely with all external relations staff and to ensure successful integration of the major gift program with all other external relations colleagues units and other PATH departments.
• Prepares and manages the budget.

Required Skills

• Demonstrated ability assisting in building strong major gift and planned giving programs.
• Demonstrated ability and knowledge of comprehensive campaigns.
• Proven major gifts experience; demonstration of having raised six and seven figure gifts. 
• Experience in managing and mentoring people as well as budgets.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment. This includes leading teams in solving problems, setting priorities, meeting deadlines and implementing programs.
• Strong proficiency in both written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and social skills, and ability to work with a diverse community.
• Competence and proficiency in the use of computers including knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, word processing, the internet and email. 
• Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.
• Commitment to the mission of the PATH and the institution’s Core Values.
• Experience must include multi-functional, well-rounded development fundraising, major gifts, and foundations experience.

Required Experience

Bachelor's (B.A. or B.S.) degree from an accredited four-year college or university, as well as at least seven years (ten years preferred) of demonstrated successful fundraising experience/campaign experience in a diversity of fundraising environments.  Diversified experience with large non-profits in the global health field is desirable, as is an advanced degree.
