HR Manager KPMG Uganda


KPMG‘s Human Resources unit is an internal Business Support Service whose priority is to support the firm achieve its strategic priority of attracting, developing, engaging and retaining high performing individuals to meet both current and future talent needs.  To support the firm’s continued growth, we are looking to recruit a HR Manager responsible for Uganda.
  • Work in collaboration with the firm’s leadership and regional HR management to develop suitable people strategies and initiatives that will align HR to the firm’s business strategy;
  • Support the firm in attracting top talent and in unlocking the staff’s capability through learning and development;
  • Champion the firm’s high-performance culture by inculcating the KPMG performance development and learning and development processes;
  • Cultivate a close working relationship with management and staff to understand their motivational needs and maintain high employee engagement;
  • On a regular basis, review the people policies of the firm to ensure consistency with best practice and market trends; and
  • Oversee the HR Administrative function.

Desired Skills & Experience

Qualifications and experience
  • Bachelors degree in HR, social or business studies together with a post-graduate qualification in HR
  • Minimum of 8 years’ generalist HR experience of which 3 years should be in a HR Senior management role in a multinational company HR responsibility for at least 300 staff.
Skills and attributes
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of core HR technical skills;
  • Able to engage and apply both long-range and short-term HR planning;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. A persuasive negotiator;
  • Must be a people-person, firm but fair with ability to work with people with diverse personalities;
  • Ability to empathize, listen and enable staff solve own problems, and guide and lead others by example;
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines and resolve conflicting demands; and
  • Socially confident and able to create a strong presence with leadership, peers and staff at KPMG.
