Logistics and Support Coordinator

The U.S. Embassy in Pretoria is seeking an individual for the position of Logistics and Support Coordinator in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Items 1- 5 are ALL REQUIRED
1. Education: Completion of Secondary Schooling (Matric) is required.
2. Experience:
- A minimum of seven years experience in office management, business or administrative management is required.
- At least two years of supervisory experience is required.
3. Language: English level IV (fluent) reading/writing/speaking is required.
4. Knowledge:
- A detailed and broad knowledge of the host country operational environment, including a detailed knowledge of business environment in South Africa, structure and function of endemic and international NGOs providing HIV services in South Africa, and other collaborating and donor agencies in South Africa with PEPFAR supported programs is required.
- A detailed knowledge of the operational and budgetary issues commonly encountered in the management and operations of public health programs in South Africa is required.
5. Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to plan work on a monthly and quarterly basis is required.
- Ability to plan subordinate's work schedule on a weekly basis is required.
- Ability to deal with changing or shifting priorities is required.
- Ability to assess problems and develop realistic solutions (how to plan for and administer available resources of funds, personnel and equipment in the best interest of CDC program objectives) is required.
- Excellent inter-personal skills to coordinate with external partners and contractors are required.

Job Specification

Basic Function of Position:

The incumbent, under the supervision of the CDC Deputy Director South Africa Office (Pretoria), provides mid-level supervisory oversight, direction, coordination, management and administrative support to a variety of operations areas. These include facilities and maintenance, motorpool, travel oversight, property oversight, property inventories and records management. Duties require the exercise of initiative and independent judgment of devising, instituting, monitoring and revising as necessary new work methods and procedures that will enhance the operational efficiency of CDC South Africa.

Basic Salary: R237,113 - R331,955 per annum
Cash Benefits: R59,819 - R67,723 per annum
Non-cash benefits include medical, pension and others where applicable
