Manager Commercial



The role
•  This position is responsible for managing commercial relationships with contractors (e.g. Transnet), negotiates expansions & contractual agreements and manages logistical support for expansion projects (including legal issues, project management and pre-feasibility)
•  Manages commercial relationships with contractors (especially Transnet) to achieve good service at fair cost
•  Negotiates expansions & contractual agreements
•  Defines and agrees SLAs with contractors and monitors fulfilment of those and other contractual agreements
•  Escalates non-compliance to agreed service levels and ensure appropriate resolution
•  Benchmarks service quality and price levels
•  Manages logistical support for expansion projects
•  Key interface for all Logistics questions; engages with Technology, Optimisation & CI function to  bring in subject matter expertise as required
•  Helps design Logistics systems that are appropriate to enable growth projects; oversees evaluation of those designs in terms of cost and effectiveness
•  Manages legal support and pre-feasibility teams as appropriate
•  Requires Technology, Optimisation & CI to provide subject matter expertise to growth projects
•  Requires Planning & Reporting and IOEC operations function to identify non-compliance to some contractual obligations or SLAs (e.g. railing volume commitment from Transnet)
•  Develop negotiations strategies for Kumba to use in interactions with Transnet for example
Requirements
 •  Applicants should be in possession of an  M Com degree in Commercial Management qualification
•  Contract negotiation experience essential
•  Understanding and the ability to develop financial models, do value analysis and trade-offs
•  The ability to manage relationships with all stakeholdes
•  Parallel processing complex environments
•  10 – 15 years relevant experience in business
Knowledge specific to the position:
•  Industry norms and trends, legislation pertaining to SD, Environmental and Communication Issues, rehabilitation matters and obtaining mining permits, policies, procedures & systems pertaining to investor relations and fluency preferably more than one ethnical language.
Skills (Key technical skills required):
•  Advanced communication, advanced negotiation, reporting, presentation and interactive skills
Remuneration
The initial salary will be determined in accordance with Kumba Iron Ore Ltd regulations.
The position is an Anglo Band 5/14
