Summary: The Manager / Engineer will serve as the Project’s technical advisor for infrastructure development and small-scale construction. The Manager/Engineer will work closely with the Regional Program Managers to coordinate and provide technical guidance to the projects and monitor grants activities to insure compliance with Project’s contracted deliverables.
The Manager / Engineer reports to the Deputy Chief of Party
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:• Serve as the technical expert on the project.
• Coordinate activities with DCOP and Regional Program Managers.
• Monitor grantee activities to ensure best practice is followed.
• Monitor grantee activities to ensure technical compliance with donor requirements.
• Produce written reports on activities and outcomes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:• BA and a minimum of 6 years of experience working with local organizations and/or communities.
• Experience with USG (USAID preferred)-funded programs or other international donors
• Experience in supporting and monitoring field-based programs in the region.
• Excellent computer literacy in Word, Excel and PowerPoint are required.
• English and Nepali fluency required
• Open to Nepal nationals only
Preference for:• Demonstrated capacity to create and/or maintain systems and procedures for managing complex programs with many implementation sites, partners and beneficiaries
• Good analytical skills
• Ability and willingness to work in a challenging and dynamic environment
• Ability and willingness to travel domestically on short notice
