Manager / Senior Manager, Learning & Development, Shanghai


Learning & Development strategy
• Work with KPMG China heads of L&D and People to formulate strategies for senior level development and talent programmes, including liaison with counterparts in KPMG Global and Asia Pacific
• Develop curriculum and programmes to meet the needs of senior staff and high-performers which are aligned with KPMG’s global and local business needs
• Advise on best practice for programme development, accessing appropriate internal and external resources as appropriate
• Develop and monitor China-wide training budgets while ensuring programme quality and consistency
• Maintain an extensive network within KPMG China to ensure that the L&D offering meet business objectives, are well-communicated, and effectively implemented

Team management
• Manage L&D team members in managing and delivering their programme portfolio, including monitoring of service delivery and performance appraisals
• Support the Shanghai L&D department head in managing the administration team and training centre
• Periodic and adhoc management reporting on L&D KPIs and budgets (KPMG China, Asia Pacific and Global)
• Provide guidance to L&D administrative team to ensure efficient logistic arrangements and use of training resources across China

Curriculum and programme management
• Design senior level curriculum and programme content including client relationship skills, performance development, leadership skills
• Develop, tailor, review and approve programme content and delivery approach to ensure programme materials are continuously updated
• Ensure quality control and evaluation procedures are adhered to, and proactively address issues in content or delivery
• Maintain a network of high quality external service providers to supplement delivery of advanced client, practice management and leadership skills development facilitation and coaching

Advanced facilitation • Interactive and high calibre delivery and facilitation of senior level programmes, with ability to draw upon real experiences and alternative sources as appropriate to enhance the learning experience
• Deliver advanced level train-the-trainer programmes to local and regional training managers
• Manage and implement a range of senior level events / conferences / programmes across China.

Desired Skills & Experience

• At least 12 years’ Learning & Development experience delivering skill-based training, preferably gained in professional services or multi-national companies.
• At least 5 years’ experience in leading Learning & Development teams, including:
  - Managing trainers & support staff, training centre, finance & budgets
  - Reporting and discussion with senior level management on learning strategy, needs and results.
• University degree in business or related discipline
• Relevant post-graduate qualifications or accreditations in adult learning, coaching, people management, or related disciplines
• Knowledge of adult learning, training cycle and diverse learning methodologies
• Understanding of senior level learners’ needs in a large and diverse professional services firm
• Proven examples of application and implementation of a wide range of delivery mechanisms in programme design
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills are essential, especially in Excel and PowerPoint
• Excellent presentation and facilitation skills in English and Chinese
• Mobile and able to travel frequently
• Able to solve problems flexibly and work well under pressure with conflicting demands
