Mine Planning Technologist

KUMBA IRON ORE EMPLOYEE APPLICATIONS WITHOUT A SIGNED K009 FORM WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED
The role:
  • Basic pit design and mine scheduling and simulation projects
  • Co-ordination of the compilation of the Long Term and/or medium term plans
  • Mining Equipment Cost Modeling
  • Conformance auditing of engineering design and applications developed & proposed for business development projects, improvement projects at Mineral Resources Management and Mine Planning.
  • Compilation, preparation & presentation of facilitating documentation 
 You will need:
  • Preferably B Eng (Mining) or equivalent and 3-5 years relevant experience
  • Minimum: NHD (Mining) or B Tech and 3-5 years relevant experience
  • Mine Managers Certificate of Competency will serve as a recommendation
Additional qualifications
  • 3 - 6 years relevant functional multi-disciplinary experience
  • Experience in mine planning and simulation software (surpac, XPac) will be an added advantage.
  • A project management qualification, previous operational service & experience of project management practice would be recommended
  • Personal attributes: Confident, tenacious, innovative, analytical, proactive & client oriented
  • Knowledge & understanding:  Multi-disciplinary engineering & project management processes, business development & commodity technologies
  • Competencies:  Resource allocation, scheduling & integration
  • Skills:  Strong interface management, facilitation, communication, presentation & interpersonal skills including financial management
Remuneration:
  • The initial salary will be determined in accordance with Kumba Iron Ore Ltd. regulations
  • This position is an Anglo Band 6
