Private Banking - Business Control - Associate


The Private Bank is a global wealth management leader that delivers personalized financial solutions that integrate investment management, capital markets, trust and banking to Ultra-High-Net-Worth and High-Net-Worth individuals and families. The Business Control role is a new role within the Private Bank and is designed to provide an all rounded experience in developing and monitoring the business controls framework. You will have regular interaction with Asia Senior Management through regular risk update presentations, committees, etc. You will have cross functional interaction in scoping, monitoring and surveillance activities, reviewing results and recommending changes to internal policies, control self-assessments, etc. Additionally, you will be expected to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and sensitivity with respect to client information.

Responsibilities:
The senior team member is part of first line of defense to bolster business controls and his/her key responsibilities are as follows:
  • Working closely with Business Risk Management, Compliance to define the scope of monitoring and surveillance of business activities
  • Setting up and ongoing monitoring of following business controls:


1. Client Due Diligence reports

2. Review of Call Memos for Quality Control

3. Review of Voice Memos for Quality Control

4. Checking of various regulatory indicators (KFS/PHS, ICQ, PI)
  • Regular liaison with Senior Management - presentation of findings to Risk Manager, Market Managers and Investment Team Leaders
  • Regular follow-up to track progress, escalations
  • MIS and committee updates


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 - 4 years of prior relevant work experience
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to effectively handle multiple priorities
  • Basic financial product knowledge
  • Genuine interest in understanding risk and control framework within the Wealth Management industry
  • Good understanding of Private Banking investments platform and private client needs
  • Mindset to understand risk and control, compliance procedures and policies
  • Strategic thinking
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Language requirements: English and Mandarin
