Sr. Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist Danya International - Uganda


Danya is seeking qualified Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Specialists in an upcoming multi-year project that will provide monitoring, evaluation and learning support and build the capacity of USAID/Uganda. The anticipated start date is early 2013.  This position is contingent upon award.

SUMMARY:
Under supervision of the Chief of Party, the Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will provide technical leadership to help strengthen USAID/Uganda’s monitoring, reporting, and evaluation functions to become a better learning, adaptive and effective development organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct trainings, on-the job mentoring, coaching and capacity building of USAID staff and implementing partners in data collection, use and analysis
  • Provide programmatic leadership in the development and implementation of performance management plans (PMPs) for USAID and its implementing partners 
  • Conduct data quality assessments
  • Develop USAID/Uganda’s analytical products and reports
  • Design and carry out baseline surveys, mid-term and final evaluations
  • Provide evaluation assistance in the design and management of evaluations, conduct performance evaluations, review and analysis of evaluations
  • Help develop a performance reporting system

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Master’s degree in development, economics, knowledge management or related fields
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in monitoring and evaluation in the areas of health, democracy, governance and conflict, economic and agricultural development. 
  • Demonstrated prior experience working with USAID
  • Strong change management, results oriented and decision making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, and oral presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure to perform
  • Prior work experience in Uganda preferred
