Amnesty International Mobilisation Coordinator-Asia Pacific

We bring change for the better worldwide. But to improve human rights in over 150 countries we must always strive to improve ourselves. Our Organizational Development professionals make us more effective in the countries that need our help most. In this role, you’ll strengthen our operations in the global south.
About the role
Growth or governance or organisational systems or local relevance. Wherever we need professional support developing operational plans and to achieve a programme’s strategic priorities, you’ll make sure capacity building support is provided to our sections and structures to deliver in the agreed priorities framework. You’ll be joining our International Mobilization Programme which harnesses organizational development and other capacity building to strengthen Amnesty entities worldwide. It is ultimately about capacity building to enhance constituency building and thus human rights impact. Your inputs will help our entities grow their base of supporters, boost the quality of their initiatives, comply with local laws and our own policies, or reinforce accountability. Throughout you’ll keep a close eye on the work of different IS programmes related with sections, coordinate regular exchanges of information and act as a focal point for queries, briefings and relevant strategic advice.
About you
The better you can apply best practice in Organizational Development and capacity building , the bigger the impact on human rights Amnesty entities will have. You will need good understanding and experience of organizational development in a multinational setting. You’ll certainly know participatory methods of capacity building and how NGOs operate; for example, you may have worked as a programme manager or staff in a small development or human rights organization. Your must have a background and experience that will prove you can identify objectives, negotiate relationships, develop intervention strategies, plan, prioritise and assess results of such interventions. You should have excellent ability to communicate, collaborate and consult with people you work with. Fluent English is vital and knowledge of at least one Asian language is desirable. A good knowledge of the Asia-Pacific context is a must.
About us
Our aim is simple: an end to human rights abuses. Independent, international and influential, we campaign for justice, freedom and truth wherever they’re denied. Already our network of over three million members and supporters is making a difference in 150 countries. And whether we’re applying pressure through powerful research or direct lobbying, mass demonstrations or online campaigning, we’re all inspired by hope for a better world. One where human rights are respected and protected by everyone, everywhere.
