Drawing on the expertise of Reuters, the international news agency, and its values of independence, integrity and freedom from bias, the Foundation has been delivering top of its class journalism and media training for 20 years. Over 10,000 journalists have been trained in countries as diverse as Armenia, Chile, Guatemala, Senegal, Ghana or China.
Through TrustMedia, the Foundation also responds to new, emerging issues and changing situations to implement media development projects in the regions where they are most needed. These include, most recently, Aswat Masriya, an independent news website launched in Egypt in 2012 which has become “the” source of reference on the political process in Egypt.
The Foundation is now launching a new corporate training programme and is seeking a highly motivated Corporate Training Manager to lead it.
Responsibilities Reporting to the Director of TrustMedia and building upon TrustMedia’s success as a global leader in innovative media and communications training, the Corporate Training Manager will:
• Develop and implement a strategy to establish and grow the Foundation’s corporate training programme. This role is rigorously target driven with the expectation of generating business and significantly increasing revenue within a year
• Identify and map our potential client base, developing and constantly growing our pool of potential clients among global corporations, including the banking and legal sectors. Relationship building will be a critical part of this role
• Working with training consultants, develop the curriculum for the training courses and adapt them to the different needs of our clients
• Coordinate the delivery of all corporate training courses and all administration associated, including invoicing clients, credit control and processing of training consultants' fees.
• Identify and hire new trainers with relevant expertise to run customised courses • Marketing and promotion of our corporate training programme, including through social media
Also:
• Report on sales results on a weekly basis, implementing forecasting metrics and identifying the most successful and profitable client bases
• Participate in the budget planning process
• Ensuring that all training is delivered to the highest standards
The ideal candidate
• We are looking for a self-starter, someone with a high level of independence and initiative, self-motivated, with the ability to design their own agenda and take responsibility to advance and complete projects
• Someone with strong sales and marketing experience, ideally in similar positions either in the media development sector or delivering other types of training. A proven and consistent track record of above target revenue growth would be ideal
• You will have at least 7-10 years of working experience, are educated to degree level, preferably with a Masters qualification (perhaps an MBA)
• You know and understand well the media and corporate communications field as well as state-of-the-art training trends
• You are interested in the world of international development in which the Foundation operates and may have had experience working or travelling abroad
• You can work quickly under pressure, juggle multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadline requirements and drive projects to completion
• Your have excellent negotiating skills and are comfortable dealing with a wide range of customers, from different levels of seniority, across different sectors and cultures.
• Excellent written, presentation and communication skills in English. Other languages would be a plus.
This position would be based in London with a one year contract for a start. The salary is negotiable according to qualifications. Deadline for applications: 12 March 2013.
