We require someone who is an experienced healthcare public affairs Director or aspiring Associate Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading projects for a number of prestigious clients in the healthcare sector in Brussels and for new business development and pitching for the Brussels healthcare team.

For the right person this will be an exciting and hugely rewarding role which, as well as being number two to the Brussels MD, has the potential for a Europe-wide remit and may – over time – lead to a position on the London-based senior management team in addition to working with the Brussels-based team. As a key position within Hanover’s healthcare team, this role will involve working with some of London’s leading healthcare public relations and public affairs operators in a tight-knit organisation with a distinctive, collegiate culture.

The Position

We are looking for someone with experience of leading high-profile client accounts, ideally both commercial and not-for-profit healthcare clients, and an ability to demonstrate the following skills:
  • Thorough knowledge of EU health policy and public affairs as well as of the EU institutional environment and decision-making processes;
  • Ability to lead teams and drive accounts;
  • Budget management;
  • Good presentation and pitching capabilities;
  • Proven new business development ability;
  • Strong contact network among the EU health policy community;
  • Entrepreneurial drive and sound business acumen;
  • Media relations, market access, and patient group relationship management experience an advantage.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working either in an EU public affairs or corporate communications consultancy or in a relevant in-house public affairs or corporate communications role. Candidates should be able to demonstrate and explain how the programmes they have worked on have delivered tangible results for their clients.
