Internships at Chemonics

Individuals applying for an internship at Chemonics must be enrolled in an academic program and working toward a degree. Their length of assignment can correspond with their school year. Ideal candidates should possess at least a high school diploma or bachelor’s degree. Internships are performed in our home office, located in Washington, D.C.
Before you submit your application, make sure you’ve answered the following questions and familiarized yourself with our process.
Addressing your cover letter

There is no specific person to whom you should address your cover letter as many people review applications. Simply address the letter to “Sir or Madam.” If you were referred by someone who works at Chemonics, feel free to address it to that individual.

What we look for in a cover letter
Tell us why you would be a good match for Chemonics and the sectors or regions in which you are interested or have experience. Include skills you possess that are relevant to the work of the position and explain what sets you apart from others. We recommend that you thoroughly review our Web site to gain a solid understanding of what we do and how your skills and experience could fit in.

What we look for in a resume

We want to see an outline of your professional skills and international experience. Your resume should be up-to-date, and your name and contact information should appear at the top of the resume. Include dates of each position held on your resume (beginning and end) as well as the languages you speak and your level of fluency. Finally, make sure to provide us with an e-mail address that you check regularly. Be sure that any information you include in your cover letter is reflected in your resume.

To apply to be an intern at Chemonics, please visit the Chemonics Career Center and build your applicant profile. Beginning June 19, 2012, we will only be considering applicants with profiles in that system.
