Overview of CTG Global CTG Global is a Personnel Management Service Company specialised in Recruitment, Management Consultancy, and Human Resources in countries experiencing or emerging from armed conflict, natural disasters, or acute social and economic crisis worldwide. CTG Global clients currently comprise UN agencies, non-government organizations (NGOs), and different corporate organisations such as security companies.
General Functions
Duties: The National Project Specialist shall be a key link between our client’s Iraq office in Amman, Jordan works being carried out in Iraq, and meetings/events covering project-related issues. This position and this project require on-going management, administrative, and communications support, sometimes on an as-needed or ad hoc basis, depending on the receipt of new information or unexpected requests from project counterparts. Overall, key responsibilities will include: • Effective support to overall project management in terms of basic administration, finance support, stakeholder coordination, and personnel management • Effective support in terms of project correspondence • Support in English-to-Arabic translation for team members and counterparts (and vice versa) on an as-needed basis • Effective filing and management of project-related contracts in accordance with the terms of contracts, bills of quantities, technical specifications and project documents • Progress monitoring and reporting • Tracking various technical and financial approvals processes • Support to financial monitoring and budgetary control process • Support in processing and recording of interim and final payments • Support in all administrative and financial procedures relating to project Defects and Liabilities Periods • Support in all administrative and financial procedures relating to project Substantial and Final Completion
Reporting: • The National Project Specialist shall report directly to ERPA Project Management Staff for all required tasks, unless an interlocutor is designated.
Essential Experience
Education • Bachelor's degree required • Experience supporting humanitarian projects required • Experience on construction/infrastructure projects preferred
Work Experience • Minimum of 15 years’ experience • Significant experience in the construction/engineering field in a management capacity • Significant experience in the construction/engineering field in an administrative/support capacity • Significant experience dealing with economic- and trade-related issues in Iraq • Significant experience addressing issues of economic development and poverty alleviation • Experience with diverse projects - in complex environments, involving multi-disciplinary teams, broad ranges of stakeholders, and within volatile security situations - is strongly preferred • Experience in countries similar to Iraq is a plus
Competencies • Project planning, design and management • Sound management expertise in terms of contract management, office management, and personnel management • Sound knowledge and experience in administrative support of large I medium scale multi-sectoral projects • Excellent interpersonal skills • Ability to plan and prioritise work activities to meet organizational goals, and to organize and oversee work processes efficiently to achieve quality results Political, cultural sensitivity and commitment to diversity • Ability to communicate effectively with and relate to people of different cultures, demonstrating an ability to see issues from different perspectives • Excellent writing skills, including impeccable spelling, grammar, and document formatting knowledge • Competency in the use of standard computer applications for word processing, spread sheets, database management, and project planning applications etc. is essential
Languages
• Fluent / Native Arabic (writing and speaking) is required • Fluent/Excellent English (writing and speaking) is required
