Duties
The North Asia Bilateral Programs & Donor Partnerships Section (NAS) is seeking a highly motivated and flexible APS6 Officer to work across NAS’s policy, program and finance portfolios.
The Officer will be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of international development issues and how they relate to Australia’s aid program. They will also be adept at working under pressure to meet tight deadlines, and able to deploy high level written and verbal communication in a variety of settings and styles.
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Serving as Section Finance Coordinator, and providing Branch level financial support to the Assistant Director General, Asia Strategies & Partnership Branch;
• Leading on the Section’s corporate requirements, including records management, web content, and financial and risk mitigation;
• Managing the HRTC program, including monitoring of performance;
• Managing Australia’s relationship with Taiwan on development cooperation, including donor practices and accountability;
• Providing support as required to their supervisor on the DPRK humanitarian program;
• Providing support as required to their supervisor on China donor partnership programs, as well as on-going China programs, and;
• Undertake briefing, policy and strategy work as required.


Eligibility / Other Requirements
Candidates must be Australian citizens. This is a security assessed role and you will be required to either have, or be able to obtain, a security clearance at Negative Vetting Level 1.
