Engineer - Process Control Administrator

Sasol North American Operations has an open position for an Engineer – Process Control Administrator to work in the Engineering Department at the Lake Charles Chemical Complex.  We are now seeking qualified candidates for the selection process.  Below are some of the job responsibilities and minimum requirements for the position:

Job Requirements:

• Develops and maintains a variety of communication interface software for transfer of different types (e.g., DCS, laboratory, tank gauge, environmental, material balance, etc.) of process data to the Process Information Management System (PIMS)
• Coordinates with Process Control, Information Management, Maintenance, Operations, Engineering/Technology and Projects on installation of process network systems for North America operating units
• Manages PIMS and process computers - including software backups, system maintenance support, and disaster recovery
• Upkeep of PIMS or systems to reflect additions, deletions, and modifications to the process systems resulting from maintenance and/or capital execution activities throughout the LCCC
• Maintains network security aspects for the process control systems 
• Sets up and generates customized reports and/or applications employing process data as needed for the various functional department purposes
• Trains the various functional department staff on use of PIMS to meet their respective needs
• Assists in the continuous improvement of Sasol Process Information Standards and ensures adherence

Experience/Education Requirements: 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience with ABB (Advant/Industrial IT),  Emerson (Delta V) Control, Aspen Infoplus21, Oil Systems PI, Oracle, SQL, Intel x86, and UNIX operating systems is preferred
• Understanding of Oracle relational database, SQL language, and network security management
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
