BEPI Coordinator
The Foreign Trade Association (FTA) is the association of European and International commerce that promotes the values of free and sustainable trade. We bring together retailers, importers, brand companies and national associations to improve the political and legal framework for trade in a sustainable way. Our members reflect the diversity of the retail sector in term of consumer goods, turnover and country of origin.
Business Environmental Performance Initiative (BEPI), a business sustainability service from the FTA, provides a system for companies committed to improving environmental performance in global supply chains. The BEPI system supports improvement of environmental performance in all sectors and sourcing countries.
Purpose of the role
Are you motivated by delivering sustainability outcomes at scale? Are you interested in being part of growing a new sustainability service that targets environmental improvement in global supply chains? Join us and work for a growing trade association that provides business sustainability services to over 1300 members. As BEPI launches in 2014 we are looking to add a BEPI Coordinator to the team.
The BEPI Coordinator will play a key role launching, growing and communicating BEPI. The role will entail supporting the BEPI system and tools, alongside working with participants and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Support the on-going review of the BEPI system and tools i.e. Management Manual, IT, communications etc.
- Development and communication of the business case for BEPI to producers and retailers.
- Analysis and assimilation of environmental regulatory developments at both European and international levels.
- Monitoring developments at other relevant organizations.
- Support on FTA member and stakeholder engagement
Job requirements
- At least 3 to 4 years of experience in environmental standards, policies and management
- Good analytical and systemic thinking
- Outstanding written and presenting skills
- Good team player and cooperative spirit
- Affinity with the goals of the organization
- Ability to fit well into a multi-cultural team
- Fluent in English, additional languages are an asset
- Diplomatic, articulate, assertive and resilient
- Strong ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
- Excellent knowledge of Windows, notably Word, EXCEL and PowerPoint
- Degree level education in an environmental field.
- Sustainability / environmental experience with retailers and/or supply chains.
