Legal and Regulatory Reporter

A fast-paced global newswire that focuses on competition and regulatory news is seeking a reporter to monitor and report on EU legislative and policy developments.

This role would suit an experienced regulatory reporter or an outgoing lawyer, government or public affairs specialist with in-depth knowledge of EU institutions, legislative and decision-making processes – someone with a real feel for Brussels. Impeccable English is a must; other European languages will be considered a distinct advantage.

The right candidate will:

• have a solid understanding of EU telecommunications and/or energy sector regulation and its impact on business;
• be able to grasp complex concepts quickly and have a great eye for detail;
• possess excellent writing skills;
• be a pro-active and persistent reporter, able to work autonomously;
• preferably have knowledge of and/or experience in EU competition law.

The role will be based in Brussels and/or London and will involve:

• breaking news on TMT and energy policy developments;
• providing detailed analysis on how regulatory changes affect business;
• developing intelligence tailor-made for readers with particular interest in sector regulation and/or competition;
• reporting from hearings and international conferences;
• working with our teams in London, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Washington, Sao Paulo and Sydney.
