Sales Engineer - Process Lines
A new Product Area (PA) Sandvik Hyperion has been created within Sandvik Venture to be the home of a world-class hard and super-hard materials company. Currently, this New PA is being formed from the combination of Sandvik Hard Materials and Diamond Innovations. The new PA is currently seeking a Sales Engineer – Process Lines based in the Auburn Hills, MI area, but with responsibility for the United States.
The role
The purpose of the Sales Engineer position is to perform direct sales of high performance cemented carbide products (first and foremost for rotary cutters but not limited to hot rolls, can tooling, and wire drawing)in a defined geographical area. He/She has allocated time to assist needs in the market. He/She works close together with Product and Marketing Managers and can be member of a product network.
Key performance areas
  • Offer external sales and technical support to Sandvik Hard Materials customers
  • To achieve agreed sales targets by implementing the sales plan
  • Visit customers, develop and maintain customer relations
  • Prospecting for new customers
  • Preparation and follow up of sales offers
  • Preparation of sales forecasts for defined customers & products.
  • Use of SLP concept in daily business
  • Provide market intelligence and competitor information to the Sales organization and Marketing Manager
  • Maintain SMS with customer and market information as well as visit reports
  • Responsible for informing Credit control department of potential credit risk
  • Control expenses to meet cost budget guidelines
  • Develop product / application knowledge and selling skills
  • Other duties as assigned
Your profile
  • Experience in sales of technical products in B2B industrial segment
  • Preferably can show a background with a sales profile.
  • Experience from a global environment and matrix organization will be appreciated
  • Education on university level preferably within sales. Relevant sales training
  • Technical education with sales experience is highly appreciated
  • Customer focus, business sense and open mind
  • Self-going person with strong personal drive
  • Strong communication skills. Ability to interact with different stakeholders
  • Result oriented
  • Knowledge about the industrial segment of his/her account
  • Frequent travel required
