POSITION OVERVIEW:
ISS, the world's leading provider of proxy voting and corporate governance solutions, is immediately seeking a motivated finance professional with 3-5 years’ accounting experience, obtained preferably within an international environment. This role comprises many aspects of business finance, including the performance of monthly financial close duties, payroll and general accounting, balance sheet control, cash management, corporate income tax and VAT compliance work and assistance with statutory financial statements preparation. The role will be in support of the EMEA Controller and its responsibilities will cover ISS operations in Belgium, France, Germany and the UK.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Completing the monthly accounting close process for the 5 EMEA entities in Belgium, France, Germany and the UK (2 UK companies), including payroll accounting, general accruals and prepayments, fixed assets accounting and other aspects of the financial close process;
  • Preparation of income statement and balance sheet analytics for the region;
  • Operations of the regional bank accounts, liaison with external banks, treasury management and administration, short term cash forecasting;
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reporting data for the EMEA region for inclusion in the consolidated financial reporting package;
  • Assistance with preparation of the financial statements of the Belgian, French and UK companies for external audit;
  • Income tax and VAT compliance work for the EMEA region, working in conjunction with external tax advisors. Involvement in tax audits as they arise;
  • Other general accounting responsibilities and finance projects as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • An accounting qualification obtained from a recognized professional accounting organization. Knowledge of US GAAP would be advantageous;
  • 3-5 years’ experience spent either in audit or in a relevant accounting role, preferably within an international environment;
  • Experience of income tax and VAT compliance;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Extremely well organized, with a detail oriented approach and hard-working;
  • Excellent language and communication skills, particularly in English and French;
  • Excellent Excel skills in addition to experience of accounting ERP systems.
