Senior Business Analyst

Location:

WWF office in Gland, Switzerland. 

Major Functions:

Responsible for performance monitoring and analysis of key performance indicators and targets. Relates the performance reviews to the strategies of the organisation. Benchmarks WWF Network and office performance against relevant market and competitive parameters. Improves key performance indicators to measure the organisational strategies. Lead the evolution of network KPIs and performance framework as relates to evolving network strategy.

Main responsibilities:

  • Produce high quality strategic analyses to measure and drive performance at WWF globally and at office level. Ensure data accuracy, support and train WWF offices in their annual performance review against established KPIs with an aim of driving offices in the direction of high performing offices. Provide an external benchmarking analysis to put WWF performance in the context of external peers. Deliver specific analysis to achieve WWF current strategies.
  • Ensure ongoing development and refinement of the KPI and broader performance framework to measure and drive organisational strategies. Drive the development of KPI targets for Committee approval, and monitor against them.
  • Ability to develop a good understanding of WWF New Reporting Accounting Principles and the WWF Operational Network Standards and its impact on data quality and analysis.
  • Ability to quickly understand and adopt new systems. Help developing further by providing business requirements to WWF global reporting and analytical tool also known as Insight.
  • Engaging Network Governance committees and Senior Leadership at International on Network performance.
  • Advise on ongoing development and refinement of the KPI framework and targets to measure and drive organisational strategies working together with other stakeholders.
  • Develop and lead external benchmarking relationships to compare WWF performance against other organisations.
  • Provides feedback on operational aspects of INSIGHT modules related to Network performance, from a user perspective.
  • Communicate effectively analytical results to the organisation including senior management team.
  • Build strong working relationships across the organisation (WWF offices, WWF International staff).
  • Responsible for the overall team’s deliverables including bi-annual performance analyses to be produced on time at a high quality.
  • Responsible to manage all internal stakeholders including heads of WWF offices as well as other teams from WWF International. Ensure efficient and adequate coordination with the broader Network Performance & Evolution team.

What you need:

Required Qualifications, Skills and Competencies
  • University degree in business administration, marketing, finance or economics.
  • Business analysis certification (e.g. CCBA, CBAP), management accounting qualification (e.g. ACMA, CFA) or any suitable professional experience is desirable.
  • At least 5-7 years practical, hands-on experience in management, economic or financial analysis and / or consulting.
  • At ease with data including data modelling but also able to tell the story behind the numbers.
  • Experience in an international, multi-cultural working environment desirable.
  • Experience in private sector desirable.
  • Analytical and strategic thinker.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written English); other languages an asset.
  • Detail-oriented, rigorous and precise.
  • Strong Excel experience required.
  • Ability to be critical yet constructive in finding solutions.
  • Ability to handle complexity and multi-tasking.
  • Systems thinker, logical, creative and problem solver.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Diplomatic and able to interact credibly with WWF senior management.
  • Interest in conservation.
