Senior Corporate Communication Officer

You are driven and you have a passion for Corporate Communication. You are the gatekeeper of War Child Holland’s reputation and international positioning which is a precondition for growth and organizational success: helping more war-affected children worldwide. You like to get things done and enjoy communicating effectively to your target groups. It gives you energy. You use written and verbal skills to create a wide range of communication material. You are member of the Advocacy, Campaigning & Communication (ACC) department and you are based at Head Office in Amsterdam. You report to the Head of ACC.
Your challenge:
You are responsible for the development, coordination and monitoring of the international positioning of War Child Holland. You safeguard the identity of the organization in all internal and external communication and monitors War Child Holland’s reputation and corporate branding. Developing, coordinating and ensuring the execution of internal and external corporate communication means in line with the communication strategy is part of your challenge. You are responsible for an integrated communication plan on annual basis.
Your profile:
You hold a degree in Communication or Journalism (minimum BSc level) and you have at least 5 years of experience in a similar position within an international organization. Experience within an international non-governmental organization is an advantage. You have excellent communication skills in English and Dutch (verbal and written). Fluency in French or Spanish is a plus. You understand reputation management in all its facets. Building strong campaigns is part of your professional track record. You are a result oriented creative self starter and a critical thinker. You have an eye for cultural and political contexts. You have excellent leadership and coordination skills. Knowledge of child rights in conflict and post conflict settings is an added value.
