Senior Policy Adviser, Global Development and Research Officers

The United Nations University (UNU) is searching for a Senior Policy Adviser (P-5) and two Research Officers (P-2) for its new Centre for Policy Research (UNU-CPR) located at its Headquarters in Tokyo. (One Research Officer will be focused on issues of global development; the other on issues of international peace and security.)
UNU-CPR will undertake policy research related to issues of peace, international security and global development, drawing on work elsewhere in the UNU system and more widely. UNU-CPR aims to serve the United Nations by making its work available for the organization’s most pressing and urgent debates on which knowledge, analytical and other gaps continue to exist.
Qualifications: A high-quality graduate degree in public policy, political science, law, economics, international development, anthropology or a related field. At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in international relations, political affairs, conflict resolution or economic is required for the Senior Policy Advisor position; at least 3 years of relevant experience for the Research Officer positions.
Candidates should possess excellent communication skills with fluency in English. Knowledge of other UN official languages is desirable.
