The Role
This is a newly created opportunity, which focuses on providing product, process, applications development & marketing support for a range of niche products in thermal management / electronic packaging applications as well as structural products for opto-electronic systems, electronic assemblies and semiconductor consumables / processing equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Reporting directly to the Controlled Expansion (CE) Alloys Group Director, support and manage customer technical enquires whilst providing technical assistance to sales colleagues.
- Work with sales professionals to identify, develop and grow new business opportunities.
- Carry out customer visits and compile visit reports.
- Support customer test programmes including the supply of samples.
- Coordinate and perform product, process and application development activities.
- Work with, develop and improve the network of sub-contractors to ensure redundancy as well as continued improvement and more advanced processing techniques.
- Represent the company at regional & global conferences, coordinate exhibition arrangements and appropriate stands.
- Give (technical) papers at relevant conferences; engage with relevant trade associations to obtain information, including import / export data.
- Develop market share profiles, competitor activity overviews and market intelligence on key product / application sectors and use this to formulate medium and long term growth strategies.
- Produce sales literature, leaflets, articles, web pages etc in order to promote sales of CE alloys.
- Generate and maintain all material property and other technical data on CE alloys.
- Provide monthly reports on development and marketing activities.
Your Profile
Essential requirements:
- Degree or higher qualification in an Engineering or Materials discipline.
- Work experience in a product/process development, marketing role and/or business development role.
- A proven flair for establishing and building customer relations and developing new business.
- A good team player highly self-motivated with excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to influence others.
- Drive, enthusiasm and a desire to be successful and constantly improve performance.
- Demonstrate ability to handle considerable responsibilities, manage competing priorities and see things through to completion.
- Willing and wants to travel internationally.
Desirable requirements:
- Experience of metals markets, where thermal management material experience is of particular interest.
- Business development or marketing qualifications.
- International business experience.
- Experience in both small and large blue chip organisation.
