The Institute uses a combination of internal and external experts to conduct research, implement practical projects, and convene a range of topical workshops, conferences, and seminars that bring together practitioners and scholars. The institute's research, analysis and programming are of use to the Dutch government, multilateral institutions, and NGOs.
The Hague Institute for Global Justice seeks a dynamic, experienced communications professional to develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy involving traditional and new media, marketing, publications, events, fundraising and outreach for the Institute's work.

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Develop and manage the Institute's communications strategy in close cooperation with the President's Office, the Digital Communications Specialist and the Events Manager.
* Build and cultivate relationships with press in the Netherlands, Europe (Brussels) and international media.
* Manage all media engagement including interview requests, media attendance at Institute events, drafting of press releases, and op-ed/publication placement.
* Oversee outreach campaigns and media strategies for Institute activities, initiatives, events, and publications including both traditional and digital media.
* Conduct audience analysis and assessment to define key target audience groups for engagement as part of the Institute's monitoring and evaluation strategy.
* Create opportunities to increase communication with key audiences and market the expertise of staff.
* Develop informational material about the Institute, its various programs, and their activities.
* Oversee the Institute's internal publication process.
* Measure public impact of Institute activities.
* Supervise a growing communications team.

Qualifications:
* At least 10 years of relevant work experience in public relations, marketing, journalism, and/or communications.
* Expertise in traditional media engagement and digital outreach tactics.
* Knowledge of and relationships with Dutch and international journalists, media networks, and platforms.
* Excellent English language written and oral communication skills. Dutch language skills preferred.
* Understanding of think-tank work and the international NGO policy community.
* Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of international policy, particularly related to issues of global justice.
* Proven understanding and excellence in cross-cultural communications.
* Strong managerial and organizational skills.
* Demonstrated initiative and ability to work well with a team in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment.
* BA in a related field such as communications required; MA preferred
