The opportunity

 

We are looking for a Senior Specialist, Data Architecture based in our Singapore office to be responsible for defining the architecture framework and support the direction for Data Architecture within Rio Tinto. You will lead development of the strategic Data architecture defining reference architectures, standards and roadmaps collaboratively with the Business, Information and Technology domains.

What the role entails

 

This position is suited to a highly experienced, technically skilled professional, with the ability to establish the role and work in efficient manner. Based in Singapore and reporting to the Manager Information Architecture you will be:

• Collaborating with the Principal Advisor-Business Intelligence to understand current and future enterprise-wide data access and processing needs, challenges and opportunities
• Working in conjunction with the application and technology architects on end-state vision for enterprise architecture
• Working closely with Business Partners, Architects and Strategy teams provide data architecture related expertise on major projects
• Engaging with peer level in Build and Operate divisions in order to maintain assurance of end-state design and processes are relevant and fit for purpose for strategic and other key initiatives
• Fostering a culture zero harm and continuous improvement

What you will need for this role

 

To succeed in this challenging and impactful role, you will have:

 

• A degree qualified or higher in IT or related discipline
• Extensive experience in data architecture, modelling principles and techniques
• Solid understanding of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing life-cycle and technologies

 

Previous work experience gained in the resources field would be advantageous, but is not essential.
