Salary circa £70k subject to qualifications, skills and experience
IVCC is a Product Development Partnership (PDP) established as a not for profit company and registered charity to overcome the barriers to innovation in the development of new insecticides for public health vector control and to develop information systems and tools which will enable new and existing pesticides to be used more effectively.
This newly created senior role will provide a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to influence global policy and practice with the objective of delivering access to vector control products that make a real difference to people’s lives across the world.
The launch of the Global Plan for Insecticide Resistance Management by the World Health Organisation Global Malaria Programme will create a substantial need for advocacy to support the plan and it is anticipated that the appointee will be seconded to WHOGMP for up to 25% of their time to assist WHO GMP in advancing their vector control policies.
You will be responsible for defining and delivering the external relations strategy and will work with key stakeholders to determine the changes to policy, advocacy and funding requirements in order to deliver access for the products developed by IVCC collaborations. The successful candidate must have experience of developing high level networks to influence policy along with strong leadership and influencing skills.
You will also bring experience of strategic planning and delivery, including management of communications, within a technical or product development environment. It is essential that you have high political and cultural awareness of our international stakeholder community and be able to demonstrate good judgement and the ability to gain agreement in a diverse environment.
