Chief Engineer United States-Nevada-Ruby Hill

Responsibilities include: The successful candidate will lead and manage the site’s engineering staff to produce long and short range mine plans, with an emphasis on understanding and mitigating geotechnical and hydrological risk. Duties include but not limited to:
• Optimization of life of mine plans and pit designs for site budgets and forecasts
• Development of OPEX and CAPEX schedules to support budgets and forecasts
• Generation of scoping studies for potential mine expansions
• Generation of reserve and resource statements
• Optimization of mining methods through continuous improvement

Overview: This position has been designed to provide accelerated development during a targeted two years rotation. Position will provide stretch for professionals possessing high ambition, and will offer the candidate with early exposure to higher levels of work, and is ideal for those looking for early career advancement.

SELECTION CRITERIA

BASIC REQUIREMENTS
: To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related degree required
• Three (3) to Five (5) years experience in long range planning and open pit design required
• Strong knowledge in Whittle and Vulcan software required
• Knowledge in Xeras (Runge) or similar zero-based budgeting software preferred
• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office programs preferred
• Demonstrated ability to navigate increasingly complex work environments required
• Demonstrated ability to lead the safety agenda and the empowerment of employees in taking ownership of their own safety required
• Demonstrated ability in leveraging expertise to identify innovative, value-creating solutions for the organization required
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required
• Ability to demonstrate key leadership attributes of authenticity, courage, decisiveness, collaboration and ambition required
