Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to lead a cross functional team and to be a subject matter expert in the development and implementation of C&P strategies for Drilling & Well Engineering for the BG Trinidad & Tobago asset.

The role exercises C&P responsibility for combined Drilling and Well Engineering procurement.
Key Accountabilities
• Championing HSSE, in particular facilitating the Well Engineering Department's system of contractor management and HSSE performance;
• Leading the delivery of the Well Engineering & Drilling C&P strategies for the Asset and ensuring appropriate integration with Global category C&P teams;
• Developing strategies to manage risk and supply chain vulnerability with regard to Well Engineering, Drilling, and Seismic activities for the asset;
• Ensuring sourcing strategies and associated contracts are planned and timed to deliver outcomes which are competitive, and deliver the optimum value;
• Ensuring alignment of contracting strategies across the Asset's various Exploration, Appraisal, Development and Intervention programs to consolidate service provision and optimize efficient delivery to the assets.
• Engaging key stakeholders to align direction between C&P and Well Engineering & Drilling activities;
• Delivering innovative and cost effective contracting approaches that mitigate business, commercial and financial risk;
• Driving waste and inefficiency out of the BG’s Well Engineering & Drilling supply chain (including streamlining contracting approach);
• Promoting standardisation and capturing resultant synergies;
• Promoting contract aggregation / integration opportunities;
• Developing external relationships with cross industry peers / industry experts;
• Establishing long-term demand/procurement plans for Well Engineering & Drilling to support the Asset;
• Ensuring effective supplier management to improve business performance;
• Promoting compliance with BG’s Business Principles and C&P Group Standards;
• Developing and presenting submissions to the Asset Contracts & Tender Board;
• Managing market intelligence to take advantage of the prevailing opportunities in the marketplace;
• Undertaking due diligence to ensure that external supplier risk is mitigated as far as reasonably possible;Relationship / Performance management of BG’s critical Well Engineering & Drilling contractors in terms of their delivery against set Key Performance Indicators;
• Developing proposals, and preparing recommendations and management reports as required both within the Asset, and by C&P Group function in Thames Valley Park, Reading.
• Responsible for supporting the Global category team in the development and execution of category strategies for the most strategic, business critical equipment and services;
• Overall accountability for the development and execution of category strategies as agreed with the Global category team;
• Genuine commitment to coach and mentor staff to encourage their individual development and advancement is an implicit requirement.
Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Educated to Degree level and professionally qualified (either CIPS and/or RICS at Chartered level and suitably experienced).
The post holder should also have a good working knowledge and understanding of SAP, ProCon and other C&P business support systems as well as excellent computer literacy.

Excellent communication skills, patience, tenacity and diplomacy.
Must have had extensive good quality exposure as a Supply Chain / C&P practitioner at the level of middle management. Experience in the Oil & Gas sector would be beneficial.

Must have a consistent and proven track record of successful delivery in leading the complete range of C&P activities and deliverables for complex Well Engineering & Drilling programs, preferably having had diversified exposure to working in both project and operational environments.

Must have extensive oil & gas Exploration & Production experience, ideally in more than one country. Must be able to demonstrate strategic and analytical thinking and have in-depth experience and knowledge of leveraging Well Engineering commodities / categories.

Must have proven supervisory / management skills in an international business environment.

Proven track record in working successfully within a Well Engineering Team for entire drilling campaigns.
