Oxfam International is now seeking an exceptional Director of Global Communications to lead and shape the integration of its communications around the world. This senior management team post will bring together the diverse strengths of the Oxfam affiliates into a clear and powerful voice purposed for affecting change at a global, regional and national level.
The Director of Global Communications will develop the Global Communications Strategy and ensure coherence and impact across Oxfam’s external messaging. There will also be the challenge of growing Oxfam’s capacity to innovate new ideas, learn from the richly diverse membership and manage knowledge. The Secretariat Communications team will enhance Oxfam International’s capacity to respond to communications challenges and opportunities, maintaining strong corporate messaging and clear organisational priorities. The Director of Global Communications will lead the development of effective internal communications, brand development, media and PR strategies and make sure Oxfam International harnesses the power of digital channels.
The successful candidate will bring extensive brand, communications and media experience – ideally in a number of different sectors and with a global perspective. They will be familiar with current trends in international mass media, corporate communications, digital innovation and PR in addition to a personal passion for Oxfam’s work, personal integrity and inspirational leadership. They will be a motivational leader and a skilled decision-maker with the proven ability to influence and build trust at the most senior levels.
