Summary Statement of Responsibilites
• To undertake professional duties under direction of the ERU Management Team (Team Leader, Medical Coordinator and/or Head Nurse, Lead Technician, Lead Administrator)
• To support the establishment and management of activities of the deployed field hospital.
• To be able to perform a broad scope of activities with limited means, in a fast-paced, often unstable environment.
• To work according to the local government health ministry’s guidelines and ensure national standards are maintained, or in the absence of these defer to internationally-recognized clinical guidelines and standards, and adhere to universal precautions
• To liaise as requested with local authorities and other organisations.
• To work collaboratively with local medical and non-medical personnel, and where appropriate to supervise and provide training to these individuals.
• To implement monitoring systems, and submit regular reports according to ERU Standard Operating Procedures.
• To support the capacity of the host National Society and develop skills where possible.

The Canadian Red Cross Society (CRCS), a non-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to helping Canadians, as well as the most vulnerable throughout the world, is currently seeking experienced medical and non-medical professionals to be part of the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) roster of the Canadian Red Cross, to be trained and ready to deploy on short notice in the event of an overseas emergency.

Working Conditions
MISSION DURATION: 4-6 weeks
LOCATION: TBD (Must be flexible to go anywhere)
START DATE: TBD (Must be available to leave on short notice)
