Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Lead- Chennai,

The Corporate Business Technologies Department (CBT) is the Information Technology department within IFC. CBT provides flexible, robust and secure IT solutions and services to enable IFC to achieve its mission and business objectives in all IFC locations worldwide.

An opportunity exists within CBT for a Chennai ODC – Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Lead to join this dynamic team and contribute to the continued success of the department’s work program. The selected candidate will be a key member of CBT’s Applied Technologies group, reporting to the Chennai ODC – ADM Lead, sharing responsibility with ECM Lead, HQ. His/her primary responsibility would be to act as the key contributor to ECM Center of Excellence at the offshore captive center through alliance with onsite Technology & Engineering team. He/she is expected to work as the ODC subject matter expert for ECM concepts / architecture / technologies, facilitating technical guidance to the technical team working for multiple IFC projects. ECM Lead would be responsible for document management, web content management, records management, collaboration, and search platforms.

Duties and Accountabilities:
The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Manage related IT projects throughout the entire lifecycle from inception through implementation, deployment, maintenance, and retirement.

• Minimize gaps, redundancies, rework, and duplication of effort by alliance with ECM Lead/ ECM Team at IFC-HQ.

• Act as the offshore lead for running full lifecycle ECM solutions as well as enhancements to existing stack of document management applications & content of the organization.

• Liaise and work closely with the onsite ECM Lead / Team to understand business needs, technical opportunities and enterprise principles around existing as well as proposed Technologies to steer the offshore team as well as related development and support activities.

• Ensure offshore teams are fully aware of and follow established standards, principles and guidelines for the various technologies used within the ECM space.

• Coordinate with the on-site ECM-Lead to remain updated of the pipeline of tasks and participate in planning delivery.

• Liaise with onsite project managers and provide regular status reporting of offshore activities and milestones.

• Facilitate technical guidance for ECM design & development team, as well as provide hands-on support to design / development team on developmental projects. Prominently participate and guide the team during root cause analysis of issues and support requests.

• Coordinate and / or deliver end-users’ training on technology changes that impacts work processes as well as existing / new document management, web-content management solutions stack.

• Provide coaching, guidance and training to team members. May recommend training programs targeting specific areas of improvement.

• Manage vendors, assign activities, and coordinate efforts during the development and support of IT solutions. Ensure vendor staff responsibilities are clear. Provide direction, prioritization, and guidance on project activities to meet project targets.

• Initiate and facilitate alliance with ECM Knowledge forums.

• Travel to IFC country offices / client locations to provide training, attend requirement gathering sessions, solution & design discussions.

Selection Criteria:
• Master’s degree, preferably in Math, Computer Science or Engineering, and a minimum of five years’ relevant experience with at least four years of hands-on ECM solution development and two years of architecting & managing offshore delivery in an offshore-onsite model. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

• Proven experience delivering enterprise wide solutions and providing services to the enterprise in areas of document management, web content management, records management, search, team collaboration, social media collaboration, and other areas in the enterprise content management subject area.

• Sound understanding of contemporary enterprise content management strategies and technologies, and their practical application to add business value. In depth knowledge of unstructured information analysis and design. Ability to translate the complexities of IT in a manner understood by non-technical executives.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills, particularly teamwork, facilitation and negotiation to build partnerships with a network of key internal and external stakeholders and the ability to act as a “change agent”. Track record for working with diverse groups to build consensus and driving integrated implementations.

• Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint).

• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.

• Eagerness to mentor junior staff.

• An advanced degree in the area of specialization is preferred.

• Candidates are also required to have at least one large scale full lifecycle ECM project involving multi-location clients, varied domains (of which one needs to be Financial Services), involving multiple technologies.
