Group Executive - CSIRO

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Group Executive, Information Sciences is responsible for the overall leadership, management and performance of the Information Sciences Group. As well the Group Executive is responsible for the internally-focussed Information Management and Technology division providing ICT, library and eResearch services to CSIRO staff involved in research and administration. You will be responsible for delivering the relevant key executive actions of the CSIRO strategy 2011-2015.

Specifically you will:

  • Support the development of a new Flagship
  • Construct the Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder - CSIRO's new radio telescope
  • Construct the PAWSEY Supercomputer Centre

Location: Sydney, Australia preferred, other Australian states considered

To be successful you will need:

  • A relevant PhD in science or engineering or equivalent experience
  • Ability to provide leadership and management within a research setting
  • Ability to oversee the implementation of an impactful research agenda
  • Commercial success in identifying and negotiating strategic alliances
